BuySham is temporarily offline following a cyberattack
BuySham has recently experienced a serious security breach involving unauthorized access to our website and administrative systems.
During this incident, our website was maliciously modified to redirect visitors to Sham Aqar (شام عقار), an unrelated Syrian real estate platform publicly associated with an individual named Ibrahim Awad.
Let us be absolutely clear: BuySham has no affiliation, partnership, or business relationship with Sham Aqar or Ibrahim Awad. We never authorized these redirects.
We are investigating how our systems were compromised and have temporarily suspended platform operations while we rebuild and strengthen our security infrastructure.
We refuse to compromise the safety of our community for the sake of keeping a website online.
⚠️ Important warning to our community
We are issuing this advisory to protect our users from potential impersonation, misinformation, and unauthorized attempts to exploit BuySham's identity.
Please be aware of the following:
- Sham Aqar (شام عقار) and Ibrahim Awad: These names have surfaced during our investigation because Sham Aqar was the destination of the unauthorized website redirect, and Ibrahim Awad is publicly listed as associated with the platform. We have not established who carried out the intrusion.
- WhatsApp, Facebook & Social Media: Exercise extreme caution if anyone contacts you through these platforms claiming to represent BuySham, facilitate a BuySham transaction, or explain our temporary shutdown.
- Property Transactions: Do not send deposits, identification documents, personal information, or payments to anyone claiming to act on BuySham's behalf.
- Unauthorized Redirects: If you were previously redirected from BuySham to Sham Aqar, understand that this was not an authorized recommendation, endorsement, or partnership.
BuySham is not currently conducting transactions through third-party websites, WhatsApp representatives, or alternative real estate platforms.
Our only official website is buysham.com.
We built BuySham to protect Syrians from exactly this kind of exploitation.
Syrians have endured enough.
For too long, navigating the Syrian real estate market has meant confronting uncertainty, exploitation, fraudulent intermediaries, and a lack of accountability.
BuySham was created to change that.
We believe Syrians deserve a transparent, independent, and trustworthy real estate marketplace where their interests come first.
That mission is bigger than any website, any competitor, and any attempt to undermine what we're building.
We will not allow unauthorized actors to hijack our platform, misappropriate our identity, or redirect the trust of our community.
We're not going anywhere.
BuySham is undergoing a comprehensive security overhaul. We are investigating the breach, strengthening our infrastructure, and taking steps to prevent another incident.
We apologize to our users, property owners, and partners for this unexpected disruption.
We would rather rebuild our platform than risk a single Syrian family being misled through our name.
